Biography of Francisco Iturrino, Spanish painter



Francisco Iturrino was born in Santander on September 10, 1864, being a son of of Miguel Iturrino-farero - and of Joaquina González. At the age of three his family moved to Castro-Urdiales and in 1872 one changed of definitive form Bilbao.

There, at the age of 15 it received classes of drawing in an academy and on the part of his uncle, Elviro González, painter and poet. Once the graduate ended, in 1883, he settled in Liège (Belgium) to study engineering. But it left the studies, without his father finding out, to begin his artistic career.

In 1890 it moved to Brussels and studied painting with Lorrand. Two years later he decided to devote himself of exclusive form to the painting.

Biography of Cirilo Martínez Novillo, Spanish painter

This Spanish painter belonged to the School of Madrid, group that not only based on his moral attitude, but on the recovery “of the formal values of the historical avant-garde”, and also one related it esthetically to the Second School of Vallecas. He was born in Vallecas, Madrid, in 1921 and died last year, July 15.

Cirilo Martínez Novillo is one of the fundamental artists of the Spanish figurative painting of the modernity. He could develop a very personal language, in which imagining and abstraction makes a mistake.

Today we are in a day of classic art, which is never of more for knowing a little the past of the Spanish art. We will speak about Eduardo Rosales, Spanish painter of the XIXth century, characterized by the purism, the realism and the impressionism.

Rosales was born on November 4, 1836, in Madrid. From 1849 until 1851 he studied Philosophy in the Institute of San Isidro. The latter year joined the Academy of Fine Arts, where it took as teachers to, between others, José and Federico de Madrazo, Carlos Luis Rivera, Carlos de Haes and Luis Ferrant. At the age of two it left his formation in this academy. In 1854 it began to copy in the Prado Museum, to Velázquez, Dyck, Murillo Go and, between others, to Tiziano. On the following year it was employed at the lithographic collection of the Academy of Fine Arts in the Tívoli.

Cristino de Vera in the Canary collections is the exhibition proposal that CajaCanarias that you can visit in Foundation Cristino de Vera in The lagoon, Tenerife.

Biography of Cristino de Vera, Spanish painter


Cristino de Vera was born in 1931, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In 1946 it initiated his artistic formation in the School of Arts and crafts of his hometown, where it took Mariano de Cossío as a teacher, who made him know the postcubism and the poetry of the generation of 27.

In 1951, at the age of 20, he decided to go away to study Madrid, where it frequented the workshop of Vázquez Díaz. It completed his education in the School of Fine arts of San Fernando and in the Circle of Fine arts. At the age of 22 he decided to begin of zero, and to take for your own intuition.

Biography of Cecilio Pla and Graceful, Spanish painter


Cecilio Pla and Graceful he was born in Valencia in 1860 and died in Madrid in 1934. He formed in the Academy of San Carlos of his hometown and in the Academy of San Fernando of the Spanish capital. Also, he was a disciple of Emilio Sala.

In 1880 he went away to live to Rome, and also he traveled round the rest of Italy, France and Portugal. From Italy he sent works to take part in the National Exhibitions of Fine arts, in which it took part from 1881 until the year of his death. Most of the works that it presented were of genre of local customs and manners - in that is observed the Fortuny influence - and with them it managed numerous awards.

Biography of Carlos García Alíx, Spanish artist


Carlos García Alíx is a painter and born Spanish writer in León in the year 1957. His works “move inside a realistic world where also it puts the oneiric thing out”; and the story is the base of his pictorial creation.

It is based usually on histories, which then it develops in series closed in each of his exhibitions. One of his fortresses is the portrait; and in them it usually does “tragic personages” who usually have references linked to the German expressionism of the first half of the XXth century.

Alberto Corazón, painter and Spanish designer

Alberto Corazón is a graphic designer and plastic artist, born on January 21, 1942 in Madrid. He studied Economic Sciences and Cultural anthropology, and taught of Anthropology in the University of Osaka (Japan). When it returned to his country, it began to work like artistic director of two weekly papers.

His first important exhibition did it in 1967 in the gallery Stein of Turin. Between this year and 1970 it exhibited both in Italy and in Germany. The latter year returned to Spain and constructed in the gallery Redor of Madrid a big space of paintings and serigraphy on acetate that called to Read the image, an installation that then was exhibited in Barcelona, Valencia and Seville.
