
Series Automatons
To speak about contemporary art without naming Kike Meana, is to forget an important part of the current art. Bachelor of Fine arts in 1991, in the Specialty of Painting in the Complutense University of Madrid, has announced principally for his series Automatons.
The work of Meana happens for three different lines, the first ones are Figures that consist basically of portraits and oils of different personalities, playing very much with the eroticism in his works; and Urban Scenery, where they put out different sceneries of the city that seem realistic in his linens.

In some occasion I have mentioned a young realistic painter, Kike Meana.
In this occasion I want to recommend his Individual Exhibition in the Gallery Ansorena (C/Alcalá 52. Madrid) until the next April 24.
I knew his work on already having obtained the Award BMW of Painting (*) some years ago, and I could have continued timidly his trajectory across his participation in collective exhibitions of the Gallery Castelló 120. I like especially his series of Automatons and the social criticism that is implicit in her.
In this occasion I contemplate for the first time an Individual Exhibition of almost 30 works, of unequal quality; some of them of very good invoice and original composition.
I emphasize next some of the works that more I have liked, between them I have surprised some graphites of Cuban inspiration.
