
Of real name José Antonio Ramón Parra Menchón, Ginés Parra was born in Zurgena on January 24, 1896, in the bosom of a humble family that in 1901 turned out to be forced to emigrate to Tremecén (Algeria) where he was employed like beginner at a mine, since his father was mining.
Between 1910 and 1916, he and one of his brothers went away to the Argentinian, country where it worked like bricklayer and in that there died his brother, of whom he adopted his name as homage. Then it went away to the United States, where it began to do, where it initiated his art studies in the School of New York of Fine arts.
