Finally we will be able to see something of the Spanish pavilion of the Biennial one of Venice, which representative in this edition is neither more nor less than the most mentioned contemporary artist of Spain: MiquelBarceló.

Let's remember that the opinions diversity about the work of Gordillo is proper of the impressions that there wakes up the abstract art, which is opened for interpretations, sometimes opposing, sometimes docile. The spiritual thing, the exploration with the matter, the sexual thing and the language are the elements with which they all coincide at the moment of stopping the look opposite to a Gordillo.
This Spanish painter belonged to the School of Madrid, group that not only based on his moral attitude, but on the recovery “of the formal values of the historical avant-garde”, and also one related it esthetically to the Second School of Vallecas. He was born in Vallecas, Madrid, in 1921 and died last year, July 15.
Cirilo Martínez Novillo is one of the fundamental artists of the Spanish figurative painting of the modernity. He could develop a very personal language, in which imagining and abstraction makes a mistake.
Esteban Vicente was born in 1904 in Turégano, Segovia. At the age of 17 his formation began in the School of Fine arts of San Fernando, firstly to form like sculptor, although he decided to devote himself to the painting.
Once in Madrid there had contact with writers and artists, like García Lorca, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Alberti, Luis Buñuel, Juan Bonafé, Bores and the Pole Wladislaw Jahl. For his esthetics it was located in the group that received the epithet of “painters poets”. In fact, there was in two literary magazines, Poem and Prose and Midday, where he published his first drawings.
Cristino Mallo was born in Tuy (Pontevedra) in 1905. He lived in different places of Spain before settling in Madrid, where it developed all his artistic career. It initiated his formation in the School of Arts and crafts of Avilés. In 1923 it registered in that of Fine arts of San Fernando, where it was provided with teachers as Capuz and Mateo Inuria.
From 1927 it began to frequent intellectual gatherings, and had contact with the poets of this generation. In 1931 he signed the manifesto of the AGAP (Trade union Group of Artists Plásticos). Two years later it gained the National Award of Sculpture with his work Nude with fish. In 1935 it moved to Salamanca, to get out of debt like teacher in the School of Arts and crafts of that city, where it was related to sculptors as Montagurt and Macías.

Julio González in the collection of the IVAM is the title of the exhibition of the Spanish artist that you will be able to visit in the Valencian Institute of Modern art (IVAM) this summer and autumn.
What will we be able to see? The sample consists of 400 González's works, between sculptures, drawings, paintings and gold work, which simultaneously turn into one of the collections with more works of this cardinal Spanish artist in the history of Spanish art.
Carlos García Alíx is a painter and born Spanish writer in León in the year 1957. His works “move inside a realistic world where also it puts the oneiric thing out”; and the story is the base of his pictorial creation.
It is based usually on histories, which then it develops in series closed in each of his exhibitions. One of his fortresses is the portrait; and in them it usually does “tragic personages” who usually have references linked to the German expressionism of the first half of the XXth century.
Alberto Corazón is a graphic designer and plastic artist, born on January 21, 1942 in Madrid. He studied Economic Sciences and Cultural anthropology, and taught of Anthropology in the University of Osaka (Japan). When it returned to his country, it began to work like artistic director of two weekly papers.
His first important exhibition did it in 1967 in the gallery Stein of Turin. Between this year and 1970 it exhibited both in Italy and in Germany. The latter year returned to Spain and constructed in the gallery Redor of Madrid a big space of paintings and serigraphy on acetate that called to Read the image, an installation that then was exhibited in Barcelona, Valencia and Seville.
Juan Barjola was one more recognized Spanish painters of the second half of the XXth century. He was born in Tower of Miguel Sesmero (Badajoz) in the year 1919. He formed artistically in the School of Arts and crafts of Badajoz, in that of Madrid and in the School of Fine arts of San Fernando.
Also he was present at the Circle of Fine arts, and visited of assiduous form the Museums of Artistic Reproductions and of the Meadow, of whose works it realized drawings and copies, in addition to Goya or The Greek one knew in depth the artists' work that they it influenced of notable form, like Velázquez.
