Francisco Iturrino was born in Santander on September 10, 1864, being a son of of Miguel Iturrino-farero - and of Joaquina González. At the age of three his family moved to Castro-Urdiales and in 1872 one changed of definitive form Bilbao.

There, at the age of 15 it received classes of drawing in an academy and on the part of his uncle, Elviro González, painter and poet. Once the graduate ended, in 1883, he settled in Liège (Belgium) to study engineering. But it left the studies, without his father finding out, to begin his artistic career.

In 1890 it moved to Brussels and studied painting with Lorrand. Two years later he decided to devote himself of exclusive form to the painting.

Daniel Vázquez Díaz was born in Nerva (Huelva) on January 15, 1882, in the bosom of a well-off family. He was one of the big Spanish painters of the XXth century.

From child he was interested by the drawing, passion that was provided with the support of his mother, who was encouraging it constantly. On the other hand, his father wanted that it was continuing in the commerce of textiles. He studied in Seville the Commerce career, but at the same time his artistic formation of self-educated form began. In this city it was influenced by the painting of The Greek one, Zurbarán and Sorolla; and also, one contacted with Francisco Iturriño and Juan Ramón Jiménez.

This Spanish painter belonged to the School of Madrid, group that not only based on his moral attitude, but on the recovery “of the formal values of the historical avant-garde”, and also one related it esthetically to the Second School of Vallecas. He was born in Vallecas, Madrid, in 1921 and died last year, July 15.

Cirilo Martínez Novillo is one of the fundamental artists of the Spanish figurative painting of the modernity. He could develop a very personal language, in which imagining and abstraction makes a mistake.

The Discovery of Spain: British Artists and Collectors: Goya to Picasso is the title of the exhibition in National Galleries of Scotland, who revises the Spanish art from the British vision.

What will we be able to see? This big summer sample revises the work of 20 British artists fascinated with the Spanish art from the XVIIth century up to the actuality, in addition to the work of Spanish teachers like Velázquez, Zurbarán, Murillo and The Greek one, between others.

Retrospective of Kees Van Dogen in Museum Picasso Barcelona

The fauvismo of Kees Van Dogen is the explanatory proposal of the Museum Picasso of Barcelona for this summer. The sample is a chronological trip for the work of this Dutch artist, with a selection of 80 works of him and 4 works of Picasso, which treat about the relation of Van Dogen with the person from Malaga.

The color and the esthetic exploration are the engines that move the work of Van Dogen, who had a clear influence in the fauvismo. His model, Fernande Olivier, was also lover of Picasso and across her both modern artists establish the bonds between.

Eroticism and art in an exhibition of Thyssen Bornemisza

Tears of Eros there is the title of the big retrospective that the Museum Thyssen Bornemisza will inaugurate in autumn, which central topics are the eroticism, the passion and the death in the ancient art, of the XIXth century, surrealist and contemporary.

What will we be able to see? The sample consists of 120 works that tackle the eroticism and the passion across these moments of the art history, with pieces in painting, sculpture, video and photo. Between the works stars are photos of Man Ray or James White; paintings of Picasso and Antonio Saura and videos of Bill Viola.

Olividar to Rodin?, exhibition of sculptures in Foundation Mapfre

Auguste Rodin returns to the rooms of the Foundation Mapfre with the exhibition: To forget Rodin? Sculpture in Paris 1905-1914, which you will be able to visit until September 13.

What will we be able to see? A set of works assembles the sample in artists' sculptures that have been inspired in the Rodin language, be already like a continuity or a rupture.
